The Book of Mormon Changes Lives

So this week has been a pretty great week! Last Monday we went to the White House and after we went and played baseball with a member from another missionary’s Ward. It was pouring rain the whole time we were playing baseball but it was still a lot of fun to play baseball after so long. On Tuesday we had a lesson with Mary Ann and it was supposed to be with John her son, but his dad said we weren’t allowed to teach him and we could never come back inside there home that was a bummer, we ended up just playing a little football with him and then we had a lesson with Mary AND HER MOM so her mom has been anti the church and anti her getting baptized and keeps getting her to drink coffee and smoke, but on Tuesday we asked if she wanted to and she said yes! She was really receptive and took a Book of Mormon and said she would read it because of the effect that it has had on Marry, so that was super exciting. The Book of Mormon truly does changes people’s life’s it’s been awesome to watch the transformation that Mary has had because of the Book of Mormon. Then on Wednesday we were checking on a bible referral and it was on berry farms which is really confusing little clump of apartments so we accidentally knocked on someone’s else back door and we met a lady named Betty who had been praying the night before to learn more about God and she says she knows we are an answer to her prayers. It was an awesome to be apart of Gods plan for this lady and to be an answer to her prayer. The lesson went super well and the spirit was so strong she is such a great lady she is planning on getting baptized June 26th so that is super exciting, the only problem is, Her legs have been doing really bad these last couple of days she has a surgery this Tuesday, but anyways she couldn’t come to church this week because of her legs and most likely won’t be able to next week while she recovers from surgery, but she is super excited to read the Book of Mormon and it so comforted to know we have a modern day prophet. On Thursday we met this girl named Britney she is only a little older than us and she is super awesome and it’s crazy to meet someone our age that doesn’t smoke or drink and is open to talking to us so that’s super awesome she really felt like our message is true and she is going to read the Book of Mormon she is also on date for June 26th so that is exciting this week was full of miracles. The big let down of this week was John, unfortunately he fell back into the lock of crack and alcohol, we went to see him and he wouldn’t let us in at first but we eventually got in and he was so drunk we asked to pray and he almost didn’t wake up from the prayer. We got him picked up by this recovery program and it’s in Virginia so we can’t go visit him so hopefully, that works but we Probably won’t see him for a long time. He bought his crack and alcohol from panhandling, so be careful who you give your money too you aren’t always helping. It was so hard to see John like that it was very sad, hopefully, he can bounce back. On Sunday this church was doing like a cook out so we went over there after our church and it was pretty cool they call it church with out walls, they had like a dj blasting gospel music and people were like yelling praise and shouting hallelujah and we were the only white people so soon as we role up we get approached by all of the church’s ministers and other People and they were super inviting we got free food and gave out 10 books of Mormons at the event it was pretty awesome like I don’t really know how to describe it but it was so like picture perfect black people church, we have bible study with them on Wednesday so we will see how that goes. Well, that was pretty much my week it was pretty awesome. Love Elder Davidson
